Definition of education at schools and universitiesIt is process of acquiring knowledge, but also shaping one’s character. The goal of education is, or should be, “to give a sense of the value of things other than domination, to help create wise citizens of a free community, to encourage a combination of citizenship with liberty, individual creativeness, which means that we regard a child as a gardener regards a young tree, as something with an intrinsic nature which will develop into an admirable form given proper soil and air and light”. Therefore even if we assume that education fills this noble goal we have to admit that it changes person from unaware, defenceless individual to wise citizen, a part of common organism. But in the real world education usually changes this course due to various reasons: 1. Dominant institutions require education for obedience, subordination and marginalization.
