Definition of education at schools and universities

It is process of acquiring knowledge, but also shaping one’s character. The goal of education is, or should be, “to give a sense of the value of things other than domination, to help create wise citizens of a free community, to encourage a combination of citizenship with liberty, individual creativeness, which means that we regard a child as a gardener regards a young tree, as something with an intrinsic nature which will develop into an admirable form given proper soil and air and light”.[1] Therefore even if we assume that education fills this noble goal we have to admit that it changes person from unaware, defenceless individual to wise citizen, a part of common organism.

But in the real world education usually changes this course due to various reasons:

1.      Dominant institutions require education for obedience, subordination and marginalization.
